During the climate conference in Copenhagen in December 2009 we travelled with sixty persons from all over Germany and Austria to Copenhagen. Our intention was to do everything in our power to bring a good spirit into the conference. For inspiration out of the infinite field of wisdom and love of Mother Earth and the spiritual world and to strengthen the field of real care for life at the summit, we held an INIPI (sweatlodge ceremony) only some hundred meters away from the conference center .

We carefully prepared our action with banners (graphics on this page) and a flyer in 9 languages (English, German, Chinese, Danish, Russian, Spanish, French, Italian and Japanese; part of the text, see below). And we made a video call for joint action.
Finally we were lucky that a skilful and passionate filmmaker joined us on Friday evening. He documented everything until Saturday night when finally his camera ran down. We are beginning to make the English subtitle (most of the texts spoken is in German). As soon as it's ready you can order the DVD on this page. It is hopefully a source of joy and inspiration for all the audience.



We arrived on Friday morning and prepared everything for the ceremony on Saturday. It was the day before the big demonstration, which should be attended by 100,000 people. Our original idea was to demonstrate and then start the ceremony together. But at the place we recognized that we had to concentrate our energy and mind on the INIPI. So we just sent a delegation, mostly our young adults, to the demonstration. The rest of us stayed at the ceremony site. Another delegation of us joined the meeting of spiritual leaders at Christiania. There they all prayed and sung together for a peaceful and caring mankind.

The INIPI began with sunset and lasted about 8 hours. Almost 100 persons from 20 countries joined the holy ceremony and begged for help and a good spirit for the conference.
On Sunday morning we left the place and travelled back to our families and everyday life.

Our hope for Copenhagen was for the political leaders to come to a good result for all living beings. That was what we wanted to support. So at first, the political result left us disappointed and depressed. But nobody knows the long-term political impact of what happened in Copenhagen. So it is not yet the time to call the summit failed. We trust in the potency of our honest prayers, but we can’t know how, where and when they will be effective.

We came with all our passion and love for life. We came with all our desperation and grief about its destruction and poisoning. We came with the knowledge that a peaceful coexistence of mankind with all other beings is still possible. This knowledge was strengthened rather than weakened in Copenhagen, because what we experienced there - our reality - was compassion, caring spirituality, cooperation, communication and thousands of other people giving their energy for a fair and peaceful world.

The Climate Summit: Mother Earth needs our love and wisdom (Part of the text of the flyer that we distributed at the demonstration)

We to to Copenhagen because mankind is coming together to make most important decisions about the future of the planet – decisions that for countless beings will be decisions about death or life. All beings, men, animals and plants, stones and rivers, fire and ice from the past, present and future need our love and wisdom. If mankind, represented by its politicians, had developed enough love and wisdom, we could stay at home with our families and friends and trust in the good results of this conference.
But mankind is far away from acting with love and wisdom. We are starving – starving bodies in poor countries,  starving souls in rich countries. In the big run for more material belongings with its false satisfaction and security we betray our natural human behaviours like sharing, cooperation, justice and honesty. Betraying humaness we cease being human beings, our human spirit dies out. And as matter follows spirit our physical presence on this planet is threatened as well. Do we dare to imagine that?
So, Mother Earth needs our loving heart and open mind and spirit. We – as many people and circles before and with us - know that there is a world behind matter: the spiritual world, the world of our ancestors who struggled for love and wisdom like we do today. In this world, we can communicate from heart to heart, from soul to soul, from being to being, from mind to mind, from spirit to spirit – honestly and caring for present and future life.
We do this at this conference, with our words, with our voices, with our incense, with our drumming, with our sacred ceremonies. We do this with all our passion and love for life and with all our desperation and grief about its destruction and poisoning and with the knowledge that a peaceful coexistence of mankind with all other beings is still possible.

The message of climate change to us is not that the Earth and life want us to develop new technologies, but to develop love, wisdom, generosity, cooperation, honesty,  responsibility, reverence and respect for life.
